I am a huge football fan, from College to NFL, I follow a lot of these players through their careers. I am a die hard Niners fan but I follow a lot of players and cheer for them any chance I get.
Titans for Marcus Mariota out of Oregon (My College Team)
Bucs for Jameis Winston out of the Seminoles
Cam Newton after his Bowl game at Auburn against Oregon
For me the NFL Draft is just another chance to follow these guys in their careers and see where they place. Some you are really excited to see go to teams you like others, Jabrill Peppers, TJ Watt, go to a team you are not a fan of. Sorry Cleveland and Pittsburgh. While I watch the draft I am always taking note of what these guys are wearing. This year I decided to follow that up with a list of my favorites.

Number 6
Deshaun Watson: Texans
QB - Clemson Tigers (12th Overall)
Hearing the story of Deshaun Watson's up bringing has to make you root for him. His strong work ethic that you can't deny he got from his Mom who did everything to qualify financially for a home and who overcame tongue cancer. this guy has been through a lot and his character shines because of it. Reminds me of Tyson Jost (Colorado Avalanche) & Brock Boeser (Vancouver Canucks) in the NHL Their situations brought about character and I will be cheering for them throughout their careers.
Deshaun had the staple blue suit with an addition, the black lower lapel. He topped off the look with a black dress shirt, bow tie and pocket square. It is a really simple look but he added something unique to it.
Suit: $639
Dress Shirt: $99
Bow-Tie: $75
Pocket Square: $40
Total for this Look: $853

Number 5
Derek Barnett: Eagles
DE - Tennessee Volunteers (14th Overall)
Watching the videos of the players either getting picked or receiving the phone call from the team that is about to draft them is always fun to watch. The accumulation of all the sacrifice and hard work has finally paid off. Watching Derek Barnett receive that call from the Eagles was a touching moment, especially being drafted in the city he will play for, how much fun would that be?
Not a lot of three piece suits were worn by the first round picks but none of the few worn none stood out more than Barnett's. I am sure in hindsight green would have been the right color choice but this color is hot with our clients right now.
Suit: $699
Vest: $279.60
Dress Shirt: $99
Tie: $39
Pocket Square: $40
Total for this look: $1,156.60

Number 4
Jamal Adams: NY Jets
S - LSU (6th Overall)
In a lot of people's eyes Jamal Adams slipped. I would have been happy if the Niners took him at three but the Jets got a steal on this one. Adams is a hard hitter and I love anyone who is given the tag "Natural Leader" by numerous scouts and analysts.
Jamal had one of only a few patterned suits in the first round class but he probably stood out the most. The windowpane is an underrated pattern in my opinion I find most of our clients who purchase them didn't even know they existed until we open our sample books. It's a pattern most people love when they see it, so I will call Jamal adams an ambassador for the windowpane and slot him in at number 4. Unfortunately we do not have this exact pattern in our collection, but we do have many windowpane patterns whether subtle or bold.

Number 3
John Ross: Bengals
WR - Washington huskies (9th Overall)
When you are as fast as John Ross you can pretty much wear anything you want. Running a 4.22 in the 40 Yard Dash at the NFL Combine to set the modern day record, Ross raised his stock price going into the draft and was taken in the top 10 because of it.
His outfit was my personal favorite until I went back over the pictures, but I love his style. Like Deshaun Watson the all black underneath a colored suit pops, he chose well for his NFL draft day.
Suit: $699
Dress Shirt: $99
Pocket Square: $40
Total for this Look: $838

Number 2
Thomas Davis: Panthers
LB - Georgia Bulldogs (14th Overall 2005)
He may have been drafted 12 years ago but Thomas Davis presented the pick for the Carolina Panthers and he looked unreal. He chose the "Charlotte Hornets" colors as he called it. By the way I like the NHL Draft process better because it's the team making the picks, not the Commissioner every time, anyways.
The hornets color work great for a stand out suit which is clearly what he was going for. The darker purple stood out on the unique coloring of the suit and he even used a patterned white shirt to not overdo the look. Overall, very well done.
Suit: (Not in our collection)
Dress Shirt: $99
Tie: $39
Pocket Square: $45
Total for this look minus the suit: $183

Number 1
Corey Davis: Titans
WR - Western Michigan (5th Overall)
Corey Davis is going to be a go to for Marcus Mariota for many years to come. The scouting report on Corey is great but he was still a shocker to go so early in the draft until you see other WR's going in the top 10 as well. I am looking forward to the Mariota-Davis 1, 2 punch over the next few years.
Davis split up his look and echoes my advice whenever I tell clients to have black pants in their wardrobe. He paired the black perfectly with the bright blazer and even added in the white dress shirt to not overwhelm the look. The tie complimented everything perfectly, an overall brilliant outfit!
Suit: $579
Dress Shirt: $99
Tie: $75
Pocket Square: $70
Total for this Look: $823

These guys are young and they are already embracing their own style. Watching the draft as a sports fan is exciting but adding in the love of fashion you can really enjoy every aspect of it. I am very excited to watch these guys in the upcoming season.
